LEVEL 1 UMPIRE COURSE – ONLINE

 

The course is now available online and has been designed to assist umpires in achieving the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective umpire and also enjoy their important role in the game.

The Level One Online Umpire’s Course, costs $25 to complete and has been designed to assist you in achieving the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective umpire and enjoy your officiating role. The course contains the following five modules:

The Level 1 Umpires Course is one of the pre-requisites for obtaining a National C Badge and participating in the Level 2 Umpires Course.

Coaches and players are also encouraged to complete the course to further support their understanding of the game.

Successful completion of the course provides you with one of the required pre-requisites for a National C Badge.

Umpire Badging

 

Details for badging of Umpires can be found in the Netball Australia Policy Document Umpiring – Parameters, Pathways and Programmes which can be downloaded from the Netball Australia website. This policy document contains information regarding the National Badging System, pre-requisites, composition of Panels, Umpire pathways, umpiring programs and key performance indicators for each of the National Badges.

A summary of requirements for testing National Badges follows:

National ‘A’ Badge

Prerequisites 90%+ Section 1 Theory Pass Current  Level 2 Umpires Course Accreditation Two ‘Rules in Action’ sessions

National ‘B’ Badge

Prerequisites 80%+ Section 1 Theory Pass Current Level 1 Umpires Course Accreditation ‘Rules in Action’ optional

Testing date is set by the Association unless games are not of a suitable standard in which case they must contact Netball ACT.

Testing must take place on a game of 4 x 15 mins.

Testing Panel must be organised by the Association.  Minimum requirement is 1 A Badged and 2 B Badged Umpires.

National ‘C’ Badge

Prerequisites 70%+ Section 1 Theory Pass Current Level 1 Umpires Course Accreditation

Testing date is set by the Association.

Testing Panel must be organised by the Association.
