What is your pre-game ritual: In order to perform to the best of my ability it is important to have a good night sleep and eat a light meal that consists of protein, carbohydrates and water 2 – 3hrs before the game. Heading to the stadium I review any feedback from coaches from previous training / match play. Heading into the warm up with the team I mentally prepare myself by thinking about my role and goals for the game, which ensures I am focused for the upcoming match. 20 minutes before the game I partake in a high intensity warm up with the team, consisting of stretching, team drills and a tactical team talk before the commencement of the game.
What is your favourite netball memory of all time: Being a ball girl for the World Cup in 2015
Stranded on an Island, what are your 3 essential items: Photos of family and friends, water, sunblock
Your sporting idol and why: Sharni Layton is a formidable force as a defender and her level of skill, determination and team communication skills inspire me to train hard in order to achieve her level of competiveness
What do you do when you’re not on the court: Watching other sports such as cricket, football, tennis, swimming and rugby. Going to the theatre, working part – time in finance, watching British TV and spending time with friends
Why are you excited to represent the ACT on home soil in 2017: To be selected to play, as part of the ACT State team and to play alongside a formidable bunch of girls is an honour. In addition, to that to be able to play on home soil with the support of a home crowd, with family and friends being able to attend is very exciting and should ultimately result in a great performance from the ACT team.
