This week will see the opening weekend of the 2018 Capital Chemist ACT Junior Championships. The Championships will see over 4000 players, coaches, umpires and supporters through the doors across the two weekends.
The Championships is the premier junior netball competition in the ACT. Teams that compete in the Junior Championships are representative teams from each of the five Districts within the ACT, including Arawang, Belconnen, Canberra, South Canberra and Tuggeranong.
The Championships will commence with an opening address that will include a speech from Capital Chemist Ambassador, Australian Paralympic Gold Medallist Scott Reardon, who knows what it takes to overcome challenges and succeed at the highest level. His opening address will inspire the athletes to play hard but also respect one another off the court.
This year the Championship format has been expanded to include a 17/U age group division and division three for the 11/U, 12/U and 13/U age groups, making the Championships bigger than ever. This year will see an events hub with health checks from naming rights partners’ Capital Chemist, a fresh fruit and veg zone with Woolworths.
Benita Bittner, Netball ACT General Manager said “the 2018 Capital Chemist Junior Championships is going to be bigger and better than ever before! We are excited about the expanded competition and the quality of competition that continually improves each year. It is great to have Capital Chemist on board as a first-time sponsor of the Championships. They have a great community focus with and are strong advocates for the health and well-being of women”.
The Capital Chemist ACT Junior Championships will be held at the SolarHub ACT Netball Centre 23 and 24 June, and 7 and 8 July.
