The ACT U21 netball side has finished the National Championships in sixth position after going down 55-45 in Adelaide.

Both sides had previously played out a thrilling 40-all draw earlier in the week but it was Western Australia who ended its tournament on a positive note thanks to strong third quarter.

Western Australia set up a match winning 12-goal lead in the third term and although the ACT won the final quarter by two goals they couldn’t bridge the gap.

ACT goal shooter Georgia Marshall landed 25 goals for the game, while Daniele Pickett posted 20 goals.

The ACT can be proud of its efforts throughout the tournament getting within two goals of NSW who finished third and claiming a draw with Western Australia.

South Australia took out the U21 National Championships for the second year in a row defeating Victoria 43-27 in the grand final.
