VICTORIA PROVE TOO STRONG FOR ACT

VICTORIA 53 defeated ACT 36

A strong Victorian U21 netball side has proven too good for the ACT winning 53-36 on day four of the National Championships in Adelaide.

Victoria began the game solidly racing to a 14-5 quarter time lead thanks to some accurate shooting from goal shooters Ramayer Gourley and Madeline Morrison.

ACT began the second quarter with some improved passages of play however struggled to penetrate Victoria’s strong defence.

What few chances they did create ACT goal shooter Georgia Marshall converted as she didn’t miss a shot in the second quarter.

As hard as the ACT tried to narrow the score line Victoria still managed to convert when going forward.

As a result Victoria led 29-15 at half-time and held a 12-goal advantage heading into the final term.

ACT coach Melinda Clarke rotated her attack at the start of the fourth quarter bringing Emma Walmsley-Stonehouse on at goal attack and Renae Marshall as goal shooter.

ACT fought hard in the final quarter but were unable to stop a rampant Victoria.
