Canterbury State League Enters Crucial Stage

The Canterbury State League netball competition enters an important stage with clubs facing two games in three days this weekend.

Canberra heads the competition one game ahead of three teams – Tuggeranong, Belconnen and Arawang who all share second position.

Tuggeranong and Belconnen meet on Friday night in a game crucial to both sides aspirations of a top two finish.

The winner will maintain second position, while the loser could slip to fourth.

When the two teams last met in round one Tuggeranong produced their best effort of the season defeating Belconnen 60-40.

The win came on the back of some solid defensive work from Keely Rodrigo and Nardia McDonald who shut down Belconnen goal shooters Sepi Langi and Lisa Kaye.

That battle will go a long way to determining the outcome of Friday’s game.

In other games Arawang will be out to make it three wins in a row when they take on Queanbeyan, while Canberra will start favourites against South Canberra.
