This week we chat to Canberra’s mid court athlete Bec Collis.
Bec returns to the CNA Division 1 team, who were runners up in 2017. Bec has been a vital part of the Canberra team, who have clocked up three wins this season, and are ready to battle it out against 2017 Champions Tuggeranong this week.
How long have you been playing netball for? 19 years
Your favourite netball player of all-time? Liz Watson, Verity Simmons and Gabby Simpson have been my favourite middies growing up. I really like their style of play.
Your favourite State League moment? Being apart of the CNA 2011 Div 1 Premiership Team when I was 17… I’m appreciating now how hard those premierships are to get!!
How do you spend your time off the court? I’m studying to be a Chartered Accountant. If I’m not working or training then I’m spending time with my family and friends.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone keen to try out netball? “Strap your ankles and always wear scungies”- Jo Collis, 2018
Why are you excited to represent your District at the 2018 Canterbury State League Competition? CNA had a great season last year and I’m excited to get back out there and build on last year’s efforts. I’m proud to be apart of such a supportive and tight-knit club.
Thanks for your time Bec and we wish you all the best for your 2018 campaign!
