Netball ACT Position Statement on LGBTQ Inclusion

Netball ACT proudly stands as a 2023 Pride in Sport member, dedicated to fostering a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for all, irrespective of diverse sexualities and genders. Our commitment aligns with our core values and mirrors the rich diversity of our local communities.

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of bullying, harassment, or vilification directed at individuals with diverse sexualities and genders, including homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. Our passion lies in promoting happy, healthy, and active lives, celebrating diversity across sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, culture, ethnicity, and more.

In our sport, there's a place for everyone, just as you are. At Netball ACT, we are continuously learning and evolving. As we expand our knowledge, we will update this page with additional resources and information, and we invite you to join us on this enlightening journey.

Expression of Interest Open for 2024 Pride Ambassadors

Open to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and Allies aged 16+ (under 18 must have parental permission).

Expectations of Pride Ambassadors:
Involvement with planning for 2024 NACT Pride Month Events, Activations and development of community resources.  Attendance at group meetings as necessary.  To be a positive role model and leader within the wider ACT netball community for Pride related matters and opportunities

What we provide you:
Access to relevant inclusion and education training.  A safe space to discuss important topics and help guide the work NACT does in the Pride and Inclusion space.  An opportunity to be a part of NACTs inaugural Pride Month events and celebrations Pride Ambassadors will work together as part of an Advisory Group and will be engaged for a 12-month period.
