FAQ (General)

Woolworths NetSetGo is Australia’s leading grassroots netball program, designed for children aged 5-10 to experience the joy of netball in a fun, safe, and welcoming community. Our mission is to develop confident, and active kids who will grow a lifelong love of team sport, all while building essential skills.

Following a period of review and in partnership with physical literacy experts, Netball Australia has thoughtfully redesigned elements within each stage of the program (Net, Set and Go) to include new activities, paired with easy-to-understand resources for centres, parents and of course the kids.

Of course! From 2025 onwards, all participants will have the opportunity to select and brand their new participant pack with their Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) team of choice. Meaning your child will get a SSN team branded shirt and key ring as part of their pack! As part of this change, we have also streamlined the pack redemption process, with pack selection options now completed during the registration process.

Woolworths NetSetGo has three aged-based tiers for children aged between 5-10 years of age — Net, Set, and Go — designed to help kids smoothly transition into junior netball. From catching and passing to learning how to be part of a team, each tier focuses on building confidence and skills at a pace that’s right for them.

NET is designed for all children aged 5-6 years. With 45 minutes of fun-packed activities (and some time for free play and drink breaks).

SET has been designed for 7 – 8-year-olds to jump in, no matter their experience level. Each 60-minute session splits between skill-building and match play.

Finally, GO is for 9 -10-year-olds looking to refine their skills, whether they’ve been playing for years or are just starting out. With up to 60 minutes of modified match play and activities.

It's important to remember that kids aren't just small adults. Their bodies are still developing, so each stage of the program is adjusted to suit the relevant age group, for example we use modified goal post rings and soft touch balls in the Net program.

Woolworths NetSetGo's Come and Play Day will be held nationally on Saturday 15th February, 2025 which is when kids can come down to a session for free. More details to come Netball ACT Come and Play Day.

The Woolworths NetSetGo t-shirt included in their participant pack or any comfy top, with shorts or bottoms suitable for running and jumping. Add running shoes, a hat, sunscreen and a full water bottle then they're good to NetSetGo!

Net sessions run for roughly 45 minutes, Set and Go run for roughly 60 minutes.

Winter and Spring are the most popular times our centres run Woolworths NetSetGo, however, each centre sets its own schedule, so it's best to check with your local centre on their specific timings.

Netball Australia, its Member Organisations and Centres are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people who participate in netball and access Netball Australia’s services. These services include the NetSetGo Program. To align with our Safeguarding Children and Young People policy and to minimise any potential risk of children being identified in public by people unknown to them, Netball Australia will no longer provide the option to personalise wearable items (such as t-shirts) that are provided in Woolworths NetSetGo participant packs.
