Walking Netball is a modified version of the traditional game that allows anyone to participate regardless of their age, fitness level, ability or prior experience. As the name implies, Walking Netball is a slower version of netball performed at a walking pace. Rather than focusing on competitive aspects, Walking Netball emphasizes getting people to take part in a safe and enjoyable environment. By using modified rules, Walking Netball minimizes the risk of injuries and falls to players, creating a safe, non-threatening environment for play.
Anyone! Walking Netball is for any age, skill level or fitness level. Whether you have played before, haven’t played in a long time, or never played before, all individuals are welcome to participate.

Participants will experience improvements to their physical exercise levels, physical health and mental wellbeing. Each Walking Netball game will run for four (4), eight (8) minute quarters. All Walking Netball sessions will include a warmup prior to the game.
No. The best thing about Walking Netball is that you do not have to be good at netball to get involved. In fact, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before.

No, you are never too old! Walking Netball has been designed to be played at a slower pace which reduces the risk of injury and allows for all ability and skill levels to participate. There are no maximum age restrictions that prohibit players from participating, so it’s never too late to start.
No, there are no requirements outlining that you must receive medical clearance from a doctor to participate in the Walking Netball program. However, if you are unsure of your ability or capacity to participate, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor for clearance before registration.
