State Teams

Each year Netball ACT selects a 17U and 19U team to represent the territory at the Netball Australia National Netball Championships (NNC).

2021 will see the Championships hosted by Netball Tasmania at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre from the 4 - 11 July. Twelve athletes will be selected in each team and will commit to weekly court sessions, strength and conditioning and individual development from March to July 2021.

The ACT State Team programs aim to provide:

  • the best opportunity for team success in the National Netball Championship,
  • extend NACT athlete pathways to provide opportunities at all levels of the sport
  • prepare developing athletes and coaches to process through the NACT and Netball Australia pathways
  • provide opportunities for athletes, coaches and support staff to be exposed and have access to the high-performance environments.

Nominations are currently closed for the 2021 team.

Final Selections for both the 17U and 19U will be held on Saturday 20th March 2021 from 8:30am at SolarHub ACT Netball Centre.

Where an athlete fails to attend one or all physical trials and that athlete believes that exceptional circumstances prevented them from attending part or all of the selection, a written application may be made to NACT within 24 hours of the commencement of
selection for an exemption. The reason(s) for non-attendance must be disclosed and include, where appropriate, relevant documentary evidence. The GMOS will determine whether the athlete will be permitted to trial.

Athlete selections will be conducted in accordance with the Netball ACT Pathways Selection Policy. All athletes and parents are encouraged to be familiar with this policy when nominating.
