In October Netball Australia announced the 2021 National Netball Championships would be held in July at Hobart’s Netball and Sports Centre. Today Netball ACT is please to announce the Head Coaches that will lead the ACT across the six-day tournament.
Natalee George will lead the 17 and Under State Team and Tara Steel had been appointed as Head Coach of the 19 and Under State Team.
This is Natalee’s second year with the 17 and Under side, after the cancellation of 2020’s National Netball Championships.
“I’m really looking forward to taking the 17s to Nationals in 2021. Last year we were unable to compete at Nationals due to the pandemic, whilst that was the right decision, it was really heartbreaking at the time after commencing all of our preparation and training to not be able to show what we could do in the pinnacle competition for 17s in Australia.”
This year I’m excited by the group we’ve selected in the squad, there is some amazing young talent coming through the pathway and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and working with this group to develop this team towards some success at Nationals in 2021. 17’s always is a great group to work with and it’s my role to set up a quality training environment to challenge them and embrace the NACT team culture,” George continued.
2021 will see Tara Steel return as the 19 and Under Head Coach, she said about returning in 2021 “After a year in 2020 where we were unable to compete at Nationals due to COVID we are really excited to start the journey for 2021 and be back coaching in the ACT program. I look forward to seeing what we can do as a group and continuing to raise the bar for our performances in the ACT.”
NACT will be announcing further Support Staff appointments in the coming weeks.
