Netball ACT is thrilled to celebrate the Capital Darters' remarkable season, capped off with a silver medal finish at this year's Australian Netball Championships (ANC).
At the 2024 Netball ACT Presentation Night, the top performers of the Capital Darters were honored for their exceptional contributions througout the Darters Campaign. The following athletes stood out for their dedication, skill, and leadership both on and off the court:
Capital Darters Most Valuable Player – Favour Lokudu
Favour Lokudu, who made her debut for the Darters last year, took home the coveted MVP award. This accolade is based on votes from the head coaches of all teams in the ANC round matches. Lokudu had a standout tournament, demonstrating impressive athleticism, securing the highest number of defensive gains, and showcasing her vibrant spirit with the biggest smile on the court. Congratulations to Favour on this well-deserved honor!
Capital Darters Players Player – Amber Brophy
The Players Player award, as voted by the team, was awarded to Amber Brophy. Known for her dedication, Brophy is admired by her teammates for her consistent efforts and supportive nature, both on and off the court. This award recognises her as a true team player and a crucial part of the Darters' success this season.
Capital Darters Coaches Award – Milla Papallo
The Coaches Award was presented to Darters vice-captain Milla Papallo. Milla exemplifies leadership by consistently driving high standards within the team environment. Her positive and upbeat presence, combined with her focus on building strong interpersonal relationships, has been instrumental in fostering team cohesion. Her mindset of continual growth resonates both on and off the court, making her a deserving recipient of this award.
