This year’s Academy is made up of a mix of athletes from the 2023 ACT State 19 & Under and 17 & Under Teams, who demonstrate the potential to progress through the Netball ACT pathway, as chosen by the Capital Spirit Academy selection panel.
All athletes selected in the Academy participated in the 2023 ACT State Program and are age eligible for either the 19 & Under or 17 & Under 2024 ACT State Teams.
Previously, the Capital Spirit Academy served as a feeder into The Capital Spirit teams playing in the Netball NSW Premier League. The Academy has been re-purposed to provide development for athletes’ individual needs and includes opportunities such as a weekend of match play with the UTS Sparks Academy, sessions run by specialist coaches, and off-court education sessions.
The Academy begins this week with an off-court education session and will run until August.
