Applications are sought from suitably qualified individuals who wish to join the Board of Directors of the ACT Netball Association Incorporated (Netball ACT).
The current expiration of Board Director terms are:
Sue Scanlan (President), Director until 2022 AGM
Colm Maguire, Director until 2022 AGM
Nicole Platt, Director until 2023 AGM
Kieran Fordham, Director until 2023 AGM
Positions available are as follows:
- Casual Board Vacancy – the term of which expires at the 2024 AGM
Netball ACT is a non-profit, state sporting organisation, established to support and promote the sport of Netball in the ACT through the marketing, organisation, and facilitation of all aspects of the game in the Territory.
Essential requirements to stand as a Director
- A desire to grow the sport of netball
- A capacity to represent the organisation in a professional manner
- A commitment to improving the status of netball within the ACT and at Australian level
- A knowledge and understanding of current issues facing the sport of netball
- Ability to actively contribute to the work of Netball ACT through Board and other activities
- A strong strategic and policy focus
- Knowledge and experience of the legal responsibilities of a company Director
- Ability to comply with all legal and moral responsibilities of a company
Preferred requirements to stand as a Director
Netball ACT has established a Nominations Committee to assist with the election of a balanced, skills-based Board to represent its members and their interests. The Nominations Committee has met, identified gaps in skill and experience of the current Board and provides the following information. Applications are strongly encouraged from individuals with strong experience in the areas of Communication and Technology, High Performance in our Sport and Stakeholder Engagement.
