The Netball ACT Academy targets the development of aspiring youth athletes aged 14-15 years, providing a foundation in technical and tactical skills, physical preparation, wellbeing, education and match play opportunities. The Netball ACT Academy athletes are identified from performances at the Capital Chemist Junior Championships and invited to join the Academy.
Netball ACT is seeking EOI from suitably qualified individuals for the following roles,
Head Coach (1) and Assistant Coaches (2-3)
Coaching requirements,
· Demonstrated experience, knowledge and success working with developing pathway athletes
· Available on selected Sunday mornings from August - October and full days on 3 and 24 August
· Demonstrated experience of program planning (Head Coach only)
· Be part of the selection panel and able to commit to both days of Junior Championships being the 21 and 22 June (Head Coach only)
· Hold a current intermediate coaching accreditation or higher
· Hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Card
· Hold a current First Aid Certificate
Selectors (4) and Convenor of Selectors (1)
· Select athletes in accordance with the Netball ACT Pathway Selection Policy
· Able to act with integrity, confidentiality and objectivity
· Work as part of a team of selectors
· Previous experience as a selector for developing athletes
· Able to commit to both days of Junior Championships being the 21 and 22 June
· Able to attend a pre-selection meeting on Thursday 12th June (7-8pm)
· Hold a current development coaching accreditation or higher or be a former ACT elite representative athlete
Please note the Head Coach, Selectors and Convenor of Selectors cannot already be involved in Junior Championships as a coach or team official.
