Recently NACT farewelled our CEO David Marjoribanks. On behalf of the Netball ACT community we would like to thank David for his contribution to the sport, and his role in supporting the netball community during one of the most challenging years for the game.
In order to provide stability and security to the staff, members and the organisation, the Netball ACT Board moved to appoint an Interim CEO to act while the Board works to recruit a new CEO.
The Netball ACT Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Nikki Horton to the position of Interim CEO. Nikki will act in this position for 2 months.
Nikki joins NACT with great insight into the sport. In 2018 Nikki became General Manager of the NSW Swifts, overseeing the daily running of the club’s high performance and operational teams. In the same year the Swifts won the Suncorp Super Netball title, the club’s sixth Premiership and first in over a decade.
Her previous experience with Netball NSW will be key to assisting Netball ACT through this period of transition. Starting out as the organisation’s General Manager of Sport Development, Nikki has experience overseeing numerous programs such as NetSetGO and Diversity & Inclusion as well as acting in an official capacity in others area of the sport.
Nikki’s role at Netball NSW has grown to encompass the Competitions space where she was instrumental in developing the Netball NSW Premier League, a high-performance pathway which helped bridge the gap between the state’s professional teams — the NSW Swifts and Giants Netball.
On behalf of Netball ACT, we welcome Nikki to the role as she supports our staff who are continuing to deliver outstanding outcomes for our community, despite the challenges we have faced this year.
