WHAT?
The objectives of the Review
- Conduct an independent review of Netball ACT’s governance and strategic capability in delivering best practice sports governance principles and to guide the sustainable future of the association and the sport in the ACT.
- Enhance the governance standards, systems, and processes of the organisation in order to best meet the current and future needs of the association and its member associations.
- Examine the capability and sustainability of the Association’s current governance framework to best position the Association to provide strategic direction, ensure strategic objectives are achieved, manage risks and use resources responsibly.
The Review has two key focus areas
- Strategic Governance Audit
- Netball ACT Capability Review
The Strategic Governance Audit is designed to review the current state of governance of netball in the ACT and identify opportunities for improvement to shift towards best practice. This Audit should encompass (but not limited to) Netball ACT Board performance, maturity of governance systems and processes, and compliance with statutory requirements. The Audit should utilise the Sport Australia Governance Principles and Standards (July 2020) as the guiding framework for evaluation.
The Capability Review is primarily designed to evaluate Netball ACT’s strategic positioning and performance in delivering on the Netball ACT Strategic Plan, and to identify opportunities for improvement or capability enhancement so as to maximise the likelihood of future success and sustainability of netball in the ACT.
The Review is intended to address any existing systemic governance issues and ensure both strategy and delivery capability exist to realise the goals for netball in the ACT.
The Review is also designed to provide an opportunity for engagement between Netball ACT, the five District Associations and their members, and other key stakeholders to build understanding and alignment.
The initial stages of the review have commenced and is scheduled to be completed in late January.
There will be 13 stages including focus sessions, surveys, interviews with key findings and recommendations to be presented along with a post review implementation plan.
The RSG invite you to provide feedback and input by completing the surveys below. Surveys will close 15 November 2020
