Netball ACT is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrew Griffin as the new Chair of the Board. A seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in elite sport, including netball, Dr. Griffin brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and high-performance sport leadership. His career began as a physiotherapist, supporting the Great Britain Olympic team during the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic cycles at the English Institute of Sport. He later transitioned to medicine and now serves as a Medical Doctor for the Australian Rowing Team and in Emergency Medicine. His extensive experience also includes working with Australian teams at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Joining Dr. Griffin on the Board is newly elected member Kate Wilson, a senior executive in the Australian Public Service with more than two decades of leadership experience. Specialising in corporate strategy, governance, and community engagement, Kate brings a strategic and practical approach to supporting organisations through change. A former netball player, she is now a dedicated supporter from the sidelines.
Netball ACT would also like to extend its sincere thanks to outgoing Board member Colm Maguire for his invaluable contribution and leadership. Colm’s support and commitment have helped strengthen the organisation and guide it through important stages of growth.
We look forward to the leadership, insight, and passion Dr. Griffin and Ms. Wilson will bring as Netball ACT continues to build a strong future for our sport in the Territory.
