Further to information provided by Netball ACT on Thursday 9 July 2020, in relation to the ACT Government pause on moving into Stage 3 ease of restrictions, we would like to remind the netball community that under Stage 2.2 netball training and competitions can proceed.
In line with previous ACT Government advice netball is not considered a “full contact” sport for the purpose of these restrictions and is therefore able to proceed with a return to competitions as planned, within the provisions of the ACT Government Recovery Plan Stage 2.2. Further information from the ACT Government around the pause of restrictions can be seen here.
The District Association Volunteers have been working tirelessly to ensure we are able to return to the courts in a COVID-Safe Environment which given the restrictions within which we need to operate may be a little different to what we are used to. Whilst we might miss our end of game high fives and team huddles, we look forward to the new and innovative ways our community celebrates netball and positive sportsmanship.
