Due to the staggered return to face-to-face learning in ACT schools and several Education Directorate guidelines, Netball ACT has made the decision to cancel the OSHClub Term 4 After School Competition.
Netball ACT CEO Matthew Battams was disappointed to share the announcement “We were really excited for the OSHClub Term 4 After School Competition to go ahead this year. We had been getting a lot of interest prior to lockdown and were also looking forward to partnering with OSHClub, the competitions new naming rights sponsor.”
OSHClub Manager - Business Development & Partnerships, Nicole Kerlin had this to say "At OSHClub, we were equally excited – and thrilled to be the new naming rights sponsor of the OSHClub Term 4 After School Competition. We hope to maintain our like-minded partnership with Netball ACT into the future."
Netball ACT’s after school competitions provide a great opportunity for school, club and entity teams to play indoors at the SolarHub Netball Centre in a fun and social environment. As families become busier with conflicting schedules and priorities, the demand for after school sport is ever growing.
In more positive news, this week saw the return to social netball at all five Districts and the SolarHub ACT Netball centre. “It’s great that we have netball back being played across the ACT. A month ago, we were optimistic that our community would be able to take the court again in 2021, and it’s really pleasing to see everyone back enjoying their netball” Battams said.
Netball ACT look forward to offering further after school opportunities in 2022.
