Netball ACT's premier State League competition will return this April, with the 2026 season kicking off on Wednesday 22nd April for the 17/U and 19/U Divisions and Friday 24th April for Open Division (Div 1, 2, & Men's) at the SolarHub ACT Netball Centre.
The new season will also introduce a two-point Super Shot in Division 1, adding a fresh layer of strategy and excitement to the competition's top tier, which will feature in a dedicated 7:30pm timeslot every Friday night.
New Netball ACT CEO Katrina Roff said she is excited to see the level of competition continue to rise in 2026.
"This year's State Leauge season is set to be highly competitive and I'm really looking forward to seeing that blend of emerging talent and experienced players take the court", Roff said.
"The integration of the Super Shot in Division 1 will also reshape the pace and the strategy of the game and I can't wait to see how that plays out with the tactical decisions, especially in close games".
The 2026 season will run across 15 rounds plus finals, culminating in a showcase Grand Final Gala Day on Sunday 23rd August.
Division 1 will once again feature all five of ACT's association - Arawang, Belconnen, Canberra, South Canberra, and Tuggeranong with Tuggeranong chasing another title to add to their already three previous premierships. All associations will return, including Queanbeyan to all other divisions, ensuring strong depth across the competition.
Fans can also follow all the action from anywhere, with livestreaming returning for another season, complementing the vibrant in-venue atmosphere each week.
The 2026 season will also highlight the role of netball fostering inclusion and community connection, with two feature rounds across the competition. Reconciliation Round will be held on Friday 29th May, recognising and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities, followed by Pride Round on Friday 26th June, championing diversity and inclusion within the sport.
Roff also highlighted the importance of State League within the ACT high-performance pathway.
"State League is often an athlete's first exposure to a high-performance environment - preparing players for what is required both physically and mentally at the elite level", she said.
"It acts as a bridge between junior and senior netball and plays a critical role in retaining and developing talent here in Canberra".
Spectators can expect high-qualtiy competition and an engaging game-day experience throughout the season.
"This year, netball fans and the wider ACT community will be treated to high quality, representative netball on a weekly basis, with a good dose of Super Shot drama thrown in", Roff said.
With emerging talent, established stars and new game-day dynamics, the 2026 Netball ACT State League is set to deliver it most exciting season yet!
