Netball ACT is pleased to announce the appointment of Tara Steel as The Capital Spirit U23 Coach for the upcoming season. Dedicated to athlete development, Tara brings a wealth of experience to the position having previous coaching roles with the Netball ACT 17&U and 19&U State Teams and as the Canberra Netball Association State League Head Coach, a position she has held since 2013.
Of the appointment Tara said,
"I am excited to be appointed as the Capital Spirit 23s Premier League coach for 2022. We have many talented netball athletes here in the ACT and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the program and creating environment that will teach, support, and challenge the athletes to be the best they can be.
The Capital Spirit program has built over its first two years in the Netball NSW Premier League competition, and I look forward to leading this team, contributing to the wider program, and improving our success both on and off court."
Head Coach of The Capital Spirit, Kate Carpenter, welcomed Tara to the role and said “I’m looking forward to working with Tara and the U23 playing group as The Capital Spirit looks ahead to 2022 with the hope of an uninterrupted season”.
Round 1 of the 2022 Premier League, which will once again be broadcast by Cluch TV, takes place at Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday 6 April with an optional pre-season competition scheduled for Wednesday 30 March.
