Netball ACT is proud to announce Wattle Blue Disability Services as sponsor of our Marie Little Shield (MLS) Team – The Blazing Bluebells for 2025.
The Marie Little Shield is a tournament that provides athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to represent their state in a national netball competition.
Netball ACT’s MLS team continues to grow year on year with great sportsmanship, and team spirit on and off the court; values that align perfectly with Wattle Blue’s commitment to inclusion, determination, and the power of sport bringing people together.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wattle Blue Disability Services to the Netball ACT family,” said Dr. Sally Clark, CEO of Netball ACT.
“Their dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities reflects the very heart of the Marie Little Shield and our Blazing Bluebells", she said.
Wattle Blue Disability Services is a local organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred support for people with disabilities. Their services range from daily living assistance to community participation, with a mission to help individuals achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
Jack Cheeseman, Founder of Wattle Blue, said they are committed to creating equal opportunities for children, teens, and young adults with disabilities.
“The Marie Little Shield is more than a netball competition; it’s a celebration of inclusion, determination, and the power of sport to bring people together", Cheeseman said.
“By sponsoring the team, we want to ensure that athletes with intellectual disabilities have the chance to compete, grow their skills, and experience the joy of representing their state", he said.
“We know how important it is for young people to see what’s possible when barriers are removed, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of what the team can achieve this year."
The 2025 Marie Little Shield competition will be held in Brisbane’s Nissan Arena from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 September.
Netball ACT thanks Wattle Blue Disability Services for their generous support and looks forward to an exciting competition ahead.
