After competing in the NSW Premier League for three seasons and coming to the end of our licence agreement in 2022, Netball ACT has made the difficult decision to not renew our agreement for a further five seasons offered by Netball New South Wales. There were a significant number of factors considered by the Netball ACT Board in making this decision.
This means that The Capital Spirit will no longer compete as a franchise in the Origin Energy Netball NSW Premier League Competition from 2023 onwards.
Netball ACT will immediately turn its attention to completing a high-performance review with the scope of this review including recommendations for a replacement program. This program will aim to bridge the gap for ACT athletes between the HCF State League competition and representing the Capital Darters in the Australian Netball Championships.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many athletes, coaches, support staff and extended families, as well as team partners who have contributed significantly to the program over the past three seasons.
