Last night the Netball ACT Invitational team landed in Christchurch. The purpose of the tour is to provide additional opportunities for a select group of ACT athletes to further grow their performance knowledge and experience, particularly in the absence of The Capital Spirit.
This opportunity aims to improve athletes readiness and preparedness for the 2023 Capital Darters Program with matches against New Zealand National League Teams (the New Zealand equivalent of the Australian Netball Championships), Mainland and Southern Blast.
The team has been training since January with court sessions as well as a strength and conditioning program run by ACTAS Head of Athletic Development and Athlete Services, Krystle Tate.
The team will be coached by Head Coach Kate Carpenter, Assistant Coach Kate Durham and looked after by physio Mitch Barbara.
The touring group will be playing a total of 4 matches and will return to Canberra on Wednesday 1st March.
The ACT Invitational Team will be wearing The Capital Spirit uniform during the tour.
