The Samsung Diamonds will be looking for retribution following their gold medal game at the Netball World Cup 2019, which saw the New Zealand Silver Ferns claim victory by a single goal in what was a thrilling match between the historic rivals.
Samsung Diamonds’ captain Caitlin Bassett said: “The Netball World Cup showed the long-term standing rivalry between Australia and New Zealand is as strong as ever and every game comes down to the wire.”
The rivalry between the Diamonds and Silver Ferns is one of the world’s most historic, respected, intense sporting rivalries producing some of the most thrilling and nail-biting encounters since 1938.
Netball Australia CEO Marne Fechner said: “The Constellation Cup is one of the most exciting fixtures on your calendar and we’re thrilled to be hosting the final two matches in Sydney and Perth. For as long as anyone can remember, the clashes between the Diamonds and the Silver Ferns have always been matches that get us on the edges of our seats and this year isn’t going to be any different.”
