In a collaborative effort, the ACT Government and Netball ACT have embarked on a significant two-year project to revamp netball facilities across the Australian Capital Territory. This initiative aims to bolster the quality of amenities and playing conditions for the local netball community.
Key improvements encompass upgrades to playing surfaces, enhanced fencing, advanced drainage systems, and comprehensive stormwater management solutions.
The project's rollout begins in 2023, commencing with enhancements at the Arawang Netball Association and the Canberra Netball Association courts. The subsequent phase, slated for 2024, will encompass South Canberra, Belconnen, and Tuggeranong netball courts.
In the presence of the ACT Minister for Sport and Recreation, Yvette Berry, today marked the official launch of the project. Joining her were key figures from Netball ACT, including CEO Sally Clark and Chair Colm Maguire, as they inaugurated the initiative. The event drew the enthusiastic participation of representatives hailing from all five netball districts, underlining the significant communal support for this project.
