Get to know some of the newer members of the Netball ACT team, including Lachie O’Sullivan our NACT Development Officer.
We asked a few questions to get to know the person behind our Netball Development programs.
Name: Lachie O’Sullivan
Position at Netball ACT: Development Officer
How did you first get involved in the sport?
My first exposure to netball was during year 12 at school when my friends and I entered a social mixed team. Having never played before I found it so much fun (except learning some of the rules…).
I later undertook a 12-month internship with Netball ACT throughout my final year of University. During that time, I assisted in the High-Performance space with performance analysis during the 17/U and 19/U Nationals as well as office administration and project work.
What is your favorite sporting moment?
Attending the AFL Grand Final for the first time in 2012.
What does a typical day at NACT look like for you?
No two days are the same for me, which is great! You’ll often find me out in schools delivering NetSetGo programs to the future stars of Netball in the ACT or in the office organizing events such as upcoming school holiday clinics.
Outside of the office, what are your interests and hobbies?
I love taking it easy and spending time with friends whether that be watching live sport, traveling or playing golf.
If you had to plan a weekend for a friend in Canberra what would you do?
Saturday morning has arrived, we’d probably head to a famous drive through café for a coffee before a quick 9 holes at the prestigious Magpies Golf Club. The afternoon would be spent reminiscing ‘that shot on the 4th hole’ and how with a bit of practice we could become professionals. Sunday would include an overpriced, yet still delicious smashed avo from one of Canberra’s great cafes.
