The ACT Government and Netball ACT have embarked on a transformative two-year initiative aimed at revitalizing netball facilities throughout the Australian Capital Territory. The project, which seeks to elevate the standard of amenities and playing conditions for the local netball community, marks a significant milestone in the sport's development within the region.
At the official unveiling ceremony held this morning at Canberra Netball Association courts, representatives from all association including the Canberra Netball Association (CNA) and the Arawang Netball Association (ANA) expressed their gratitude to the Minister for Sport and Rec - Yvette Berry for her commitment to the upgrade. They highlighted the overwhelmingly positive response received from the community towards the revamped facilities.
During their junior rep carnival last Sunday, the Arawang Netball Association debuted the newly renovated courts. Arawang President, Jo Peisley, reported positive feedback from all attendees regarding the upgraded facilities.
Netball ACT CEO - Sally Clark, praised the ACT Government today for their support in providing quality playing spaces for netballers. She lauded the fantastic courts at Lyneham and Stirling, expressing delight at witnessing the community's enjoyment of the new facilities during Sunday's Arawang carnival.
"Thank you to Simon Dolejsi from ACT Sport and Rec and Netball ACT board member Keiren Fordham who has been a driving force of this project", Sally said.
She also thanked Jo and Gill from Arawang and Canberra respectively for their cooperation during the project's implementation.
