President, Netball ACT (NACT), Ms Louise Bilston is pleased to announce the appointment of David Marjoribanks to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective Monday 30th of September 2019.
Mr Marjoribanks joins the organisation with over twenty-five years’ experience in executive and general management roles, within the insurance and finance sector. With a strong background in organisational process, development and implementation of strategic and business planning, Mr Marjoribanks’ commercial acumen and leadership qualities will be instrumental in delivering the next phase of organisational growth for Netball ACT.
“After a comprehensive interview process we are delighted to announce David’s appointment to the Netball ACT leadership team. David’s extensive commercial, financial and business experience and proven track record in business development and company management will underpin his leadership of our organisation. We believe David’s strategic agility, business acumen and mission-driven orientation will be of significant benefit as we move into a new and exciting period for Netball ACT with our Premier League and Australian Netball League franchises kicking off in 2020” said Ms Bilston.
A keen former cricketer, David’s involvement in sport has extended from grass-roots participation and ACT premier cricket coaching, through to elite representation having been a member of the Bradman XI in 1998. David is also a Life Member of the Australian Cricketers Association. With an undeniable passion for sport, David is looking forward to making a genuine contribution to the Netball ACT community.
“David is an extremely engaging person whose sporting experience (in cricket) spans all levels of grassroots and elite sport, that compliments his lived understanding of sporting volunteer roles. David can relate to members, volunteers and stakeholders of our netball community at all levels. His own personal sporting experience, passion for sport and community and his ability to drive strategic direction will underpin his mission to grow and succeed our sport within Canberra and the region” says Ms Bilston regarding the decision.
