Netball ACT is proud to announce Perdi Mitchell as the recipient of the 2024 SolarHub Homegrown Hero Award. This prestigious accolade celebrates individuals within the community who go above and beyond to give back to netball in the ACT, with a focus on creating lasting and sustainable change.
Perdi Mitchell has exemplified this spirit through her tireless commitment as the Junior Representative Coordinator for the South Canberra Netball Association. Her dedication to the junior program has been instrumental, volunteering countless hours to ensure its success. From managing carnivals and coordinating transport to overseeing players and equipment, Mitchell has played a pivotal role in making the program run smoothly.
In addition to her work with the South Canberra Netball Association, Mitchell is also an active committee member of the Bullants Netball Club. Her involvement spans across various facets, including grading teams each season, organising coaches, and arranging fill-in players. Known for her willingness to lend a hand, she often steps up to fill in for an umpire or assist with canteen duties, always with a smile.
Mitchell’s focus on player happiness and well-being is at the heart of her decision-making. Her efforts have had a profound impact on both the South Canberra Netball Association and the Bullants Netball Club, contributing to their continued success.
Netball ACT congratulates Perdi Mitchell for her incredible contributions to the netball community and is thrilled to recognize her with this well-deserved award.
Perdi was presented with her award by SolarHub representative - Thomas Steer at the recent Netball ACT Presentation Night.
